Novara wins contract to develop .ie API for Register.com subsidiary

Award winning hosting company Novara.ie, has won the contract to develop the .ie domain registration API for Register.com’s Reseller division, Rconnection.com. Rconnection are pro-actively targeting the Irish market and this clearly demonstrates their local European focus, as they implement solutions to cater for local client demands.

Commenting on the contract win Eoin Costello (MD of Novara.ie) said:

Novara have consistently invested heavily in developing cutting edge applications with the focus being on providing ever improving levels of service to our clients. This contract win comes on the back of the success of our .ieXpress system ( http://www.register.ie/resellers.html ).

In developing the .ieXpress system our inhouse development team achieved a world first. We automated the process for applying for a .ie domain and provided customers with an online tracking system to monitor the progress of each registration. The .ieXpress led to a dramatic reduction in turnaround time for .ie registrations and increased the success rates of registrations leading to our winning the inaugural Irish Domain Registry Achievement award last year (http://www.novara.ie/news.php?id=15 ). However the .ieXpress did not enable third parties to leverage our automated system, the API functionality will do so.

This contract win will port API functionality onto the successful .ieXpress system. In practical terms the development of the .ieXpress API allows users to perform various tasks, that would normally have to be done manually, by interacting directly with the Irish Domain Registry systems. For the first time ever, companies can offer .ie domains for sale directly from their website and, by using the .ieXpress API, will have the functionality available to them to process the registrations, change of details and all the related Irish Domain Registry technical requirements automatically from within their own control panel. This ability saves on administrative costs, it simplifies the entry of companies into the .ie domain registration market and is relatively simple to integrate into their existing systems.
